Spring Street Gallery Interactive Arts Fair - Monday July 20th 11am - 3pm

All are welcome at this summer’s first Interactive Arts Fair!

Join us at the Spring Street Gallery on Monday July 20th for a day of interactive arts, creative experiences, and midway games! Enjoy live music from our talented local performers, play games, win prizes, and meet and make art with island artists. There is something for everyone at the fair!

Make art of your own alongside professional artists with hands-on creative activities like jewelry crafting, DIY butterfly cages, plantable seed sculptures, pottery painting, and spin painting. Have your face painted, your tarot cards pulled, or put yourself into a work of art. Win high-quality art, nature, and island-themed prizes at art-inspired midway games like the Paint Shooting Gallery, Mini Regatta Boat Race, Hidden Labyrinth, Art Bingo, and more! Try new experiences accessible to all skill levels or revisit an old favorite pastime.

No junk prizes! The prize selection includes art supplies, works of art, nature exploration tools, island-favorite gifts, and a grand prize raffle at the end of the event!

Exact line-up of this year’s activities will be announced in late June. Stay tuned! No reservation or advance ticket sales to visit the fair; just walk in! Roll tickets for activities will be sold on-site.

Volunteers Needed!

We are asking members of the island community to spend a day sharing your talents and creativity with the public, helping to guide visitors through crafting, personal experiences, and carnival games. What kind of activity you operate is based on what you love and want to share. If you’re great at weaving flower crowns, we can design a booth around sharing that skill. Practice palm reading? We’ll set it up!

Love fun and games? You can be in charge of a carnival game of your own for the day. Volunteers get to share their own creative passions while helping to support a local arts non-profit and community space.

This is a great opportunity to put yourself and your work in direct contact with island visitors. You can spend a day practicing your craft while sharing your techniques with others and promoting your work to art enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

If you don’t have a specific activity in mind but still want to help out, there are plenty of versatile, accessible activity options available. Event organizers will coordinate with you to plan the activity that is right for you. Ideas and suggestions encouraged! If your activity requires materials, we will work with you to accommodate those needs.

Activities should be accessible to beginners and require no more than 20 minutes on average. Crafting activities should result in a packable item visitors are able to take with them. We are not able to offer projects with long drying/curing times at this event- one hour at most if necessary. If you have a creative skill you would like to share which does not meet this criteria, contact e.hk.groll@gmail.com to discuss hosting your own class on another day!

Need ideas? Suggested activities include caricature drawing, spin painting, terrarium making, face painting or henna art, build-it projects, papercrafting, or signing up to run a game! Game stations will be turnkey operation so you do not need to be skilled in a game to run a station.

In gratitude for donating your time and your talents to this community event, volunteers may include a limited retail element in your activity stations. Spring Street Gallery is waiving its standard commission for fair volunteers for the day, leaving our volunteers with 100% of anything you sell at this event.

The event is scheduled for Monday, July 20th, 11-3. We are asking volunteers to commit to 10-3:30/4 to accommodate station set up and break down. If you cannot commit to the full event but still want to help out, please consider splitting a shift or sharing a station with someone.

We are also grateful for material donations to contribute to our prize selection. Written acknowledgements for tax-deductible material contributions are available.

For more information and to sign up to volunteer, please contact event coordinator Erin at e.hk.groll@gmail.com.

Thoughtfully crafted to elevate what matters most.
